Mock interview event organised to raise awareness of employer responsibility
The South Wales Working Well Together group (WWT) has organised a mock interview 'under caution' to help businesses prepare for the arrival of the new Corporate Manslaughter legislation set to be introduced in April.

A senior manager from a construction company will be put into a post-accident 'interview' with the police in relation to the incident.

The interview takes place on March 6th in front of an audience made up of representatives from the construction industry.

Chantal Nicholls, HSE principal inspector for construction in Wales, said that with the new legislation coming into force, this theme for the seminars was the obvious choice.

"The interview is a nerve-wracking experience - the scenario is made up, but the line of questioning is exactly the same as any employer could expect if they find themselves the subject of a joint investigation by the Police and HSE," she said.

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 is thought to come into force on April 6th.
