Company charged after accident

SITA is being charged with the death of an employee after an accident involving one of its recycling machines, a source says.
The case is being brought under Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, reports the Swindon Advertiser.
In 2005, Paul McGuire was killed at Freeths Waste Disposal recycling centre after trying to clear a blockage from an industrial cardboard bailing machine.
The coroner is ruling death by misadventure after Mr McGuire was seen trying to remove the obstruction with his feet.
SITA has made health and safety improvements since the accident, the inquest heard.
The Swindon Advertiser reports the company is pleading not guilty to the Health and Safety Executive's charges.
Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 includes an obligation to provide the "information, instruction, training and supervision" necessary to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
