NYK Logistics admitted contravening legislation by not organising its workplace in such a way that vehicles and pedestrians could move in a safe manner, according to thisisderbyshire.co.uk.
Lisa Ramos was left disabled by the accident and has had five operations to try and improve her condition.
Melvin Sandell, prosecuting on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive, told the news provider she had taken all the safety steps required of her.
"She was wearing her issued safety shoes and a high-visibility vest. She had got halfway across the dock when she was struck from behind by the forklift truck," he said.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man from Sheffield recently lost his life after he was crushed between a forklift truck and the roof of a metal container, the Star reports.
