Taypack fined GBP 800 after fork-lift accident
A firm has been fined £800 after a fork-lift truck accident left an employee injured, a source says.

Taypack Potatoes is being issued the fine after it admitted to breaches of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Perthshire Advertiser reports.

A maintenance engineer was injured after an accident where he was struck and dragged behind a fork-lift truck at the company's factory.

Kenneth Marshall has been off work for 15 months with a broken leg and ankle, but is returning this week.

Sheriff Michael Fletcher described the accident's seriousness as "at the lower end of the scale" when he made his judgement, the news provider reports.

The driver of the truck had been in another accident nine days earlier, which he was due to attend a disciplinary hearing for.

In the earlier incident, no-one had been hurt as a pedestrian had been able to avoid the truck.

Last month, the Plymouth Evening Herald reported a city council was being taken to court after the death of an employee who was crushed by a fork-lift truck.ADNFCR-1336-ID-18768983-ADNFCR
