HSE announces new series of health and safety

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced details of a new series of health and safety events in Wansbeck.
Taking place over the course of this week, the health and safety initiative will include a number of different meetings, covering a number of different topics that include health and safety advice for small businesses.
Dubbed the Wansbeck Safer Community Initiative, the event is to be coordinated by Wansbeck District Council, in partnership with the HSE.
"Working together we hope to make Wansbeck a safer working community and the activities, talks and demonstrations are designed to help the working community improve their health and safety awareness [and] reduce workplace injuries and ill health," said Pam Waldron, head of operations for the north-east at the HSE.
Representatives from the Fire Service will also be present.
The HSE is a non-departmental body of the UK government.
