HSE holds events to raise awareness of upper limb disorders
Three events are being held by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in a bid to raise awareness among businesses of the dangers of upper limb disorders (ULD) which are often referred to as repetitive strain injuries (RSI).

Bristol, Dorchester and Exeter are the locations for the workshop-style awareness events which are targeting senior managers and health and safety supervisors in the food and drink manufacturing and processing industry.

The health and safety courses are expected to provide attendees with information relating to RSI including tips on how to avoid ULDs occurring in the workplace.

Organisations should also be able to sign up to receive a visit from a HSE officer to assess the potential dangers.

The first event will be held February 5th at Athelhampton House near Dorchester in Dorset.

Last year there was a total of 27,000 cases of ULD and RSI in the south-west region.

Meanwhile, the RSI Action group is holding its own conference in central London on March 1st.
