New construction health and safety seminars announced

December 10, 2007

New construction health and safety seminars announced
Britain's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced details of two forthcoming construction-orientated health and safety seminars.

Taking place in Clitheroe, Lancashire, on December 12th, the two half-day events are being implemented as a way of widening the knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007) within the building sector.

"The CDM 2007 Regulations provide a challenge to the construction industry to embrace a forward-thinking approach," said Dave Charnock, a construction inspector for the HSE.

"Research has indicated that a significant proportion of incidents are at least partially attributable to decisions made well in advance of the actual construction phase," he added.

Available at no cost, the two half-day events will be open to public and private-sector individuals involved in the field of construction.

CDM 2007 regulations entered into force in April 2007.
