APN highlights forklift health and safety awareness
The Association of Pallet Networks (APN) has launched a safety poster campaign aimed at raising awareness of what employees and bosses should do in the event of a forklift truck rollover.

Entitled Buckle up, No Excuses, the safety posters have been developed by the APN's health and safety forum group, roadtransport.com reports.

If a forklift is likely to fall drivers are advised to brace their feet, hold on tight to the steering wheel, lean away from the impact and lean forward to reduce the risk of injury as much as possible.

Paul Sanders, chairman of the association, told the website that while operators are given continuous training on how to use the machines safely and effectively, the safety poster campaign would help raise awareness of health and safety issues.

Recently, the Star reported a man in being crushed to death by a forklift truck at a Sheffield engineering plant.
