HSE to investigate Widnes depot accident
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched an investigation into an accident which took place in Widnes, a source reveals.

An accident has occurred at Halton Community Transport leading to the injury of one of the firms' employees, the Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News reports.

The organisation has confirmed there will be an examination of the circumstances which lead to the incident.

According to the news provider, a 57-year-old bus driver was injured at the depot after becoming trapped within the wheel arch of a vehicle.

He was taken to hospital after he was released, where he was diagnosed as suffering several breakages.

Duncan Prince, the company's general manager, tells the source: "One of our drivers sustained a broken leg and wrist following an accident at our depot late on Friday afternoon. We’re currently in the process of investigating the incident."

In related news, Caltherm UK has been fined £10,000 plus £3,377 in costs after one of its workers experienced injuries which left him with five dislocated toes and a number of breakages.ADNFCR-1336-ID-18924756-ADNFCR
