RoSPA to honour 1,500 firms
May 7, 2008

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has announced it will honour the work of a record 1,500 businesses at its Health and Safety Awards next week.
Companies are to receive recognition for their high levels of performance and occupational health management systems.
In order to qualify for the awards, firms had to demonstrate a safety culture, low levels of harm and loss as well as an exceptional control of risk and error.
Chief executive of RoSPA, Tom Mullarkey, said more companies should show the same level of commitment to safety that the winners have.
"If every business in the UK could put in place the kind of safe and healthy working that this year's award winners have created, very many tragedies would be avoided and lives saved," he said.
The awards will take place at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole hotel between May 13th and 15th.
RoSPA has been established for over 90 years and aims to actively promote accident prevention and safety.
