Iosh to hold health and safety conference
January 9, 2009

The 60th Institution of the Occupational Safety and Health (Iosh) conference will be held at the BT Convention Centre in Liverpool.
Among the features will be the Health and Safety Executive's chairman Geoffrey Podger answering questions on the implications of his organisation's new strategy.
Panel discussions on 'health and safety gone mad' media coverage will be held with members of Iosh, the National Patient Safety Association and the Association of British Insurers.
Foreign approaches to the problem of workplace protections will also be examined, with a panel debate involving Coca Cola's Cees van Dongen and Link Associates' David Ewans, among others.
Nattasha Freeman, the president of Iosh, recently claimed companies which do not take their health and safety obligations seriously face particularly tough conditions during the credit crunch.
